Simon Zimbler & Verity Jones will be joining us as regular Tuscan bloggers! They are the proprietors of Podere Patrignone, a top rated Villa in Castellina in Chianti, and a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence winner, with glowing reviews. Podere Patrignone is a beautiful historic 14th Century (possibly even older) farm estate or ‘podere’ which has been lovingly and tastefully restored. Patrignone is set on top of its own hill reached by a long, winding private road through 150 acres of forest, olives and vines, with uninterrupted 360 degree views over the Tuscan landscape and valley below.
Thanks to their focus on the environment, Podere Patrignone has been awarded TripAdvisor’s top award for eco-tourism. The facility is actually “carbon positive,” recycles up to 95% of its waste, practices strict water conservation, and grows its own organic vegetables. Both are excellent writers, with Verity regularly publishing an extremely enjoyable and informative newsletter called Letters from Tuscany: More Stories from Deepest, Darkest Chianti. There first blog for us is about this year’s Chianti Classico Wine Fair in Castellina. Please visit their web page and consider staying with them for a while. We can’t wait to do so ourselves!
